Can I still use five and half pence stamp?

Hello, I hope you don't mind me contacting you for some advice, I have acquired several stamps showing a value of five and a half pence (the 'pence' is decimal) - they are purple with a picture of Queen Elizabeth and a dragon.

Could I use these for posting my mail today? (Using several to make up the amount to today's prices, of course).

Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Best regards,
Carole.

Can you still double the halfpence to whole pence? NEW
by: John

I have been using 'old' decimal GB postage for ages, but always get contradictory advice re the 'half pence' values.
If I have 10 and a half pence stamp, I can see the logic that it is 10p only, the 1/2p is forefitted, but what if I use more, let's say six x 10 1/2p
ie total 63p. Is that a legal total or are the 1/2p's still ignored?

Many thanks

John

yes you can use for postage, i think the halfpence is not valid tho, check at your post office about the halfpence part but definitely the 5p value is ok.
